Featuring displays from reenactors, local museums, historians and authors including Baker Co 1/21 Marines, Hopedale Women's History Project, Museum of Worcester, the International War Museum, and Blackstone River National Historical Park.
The Blackstone River Valley, spanning 25 towns across Rhode Island and Massachusetts, played a crucial role in America’s wartime efforts during World War II. While other parts of the country took time to shift into wartime production, the industries of the Blackstone Valley quickly adapted—producing essential materials such as wire for jeeps and communication equipment, wool and cotton for uniforms and blankets, rubber for gas masks, and much more.
Blackstone Valley National Historical park will be handing out free America the Beautiful passes to veterans.
